The first step to permanent weight loss and maintenance is understanding why you eat.
At Princeton Weight Loss Program, Joyce spends one-on-one time with each of her clients to figure out the psychological reasons of why they eat. Each program is designed to fit into each and every person’s needs and lifestyle. There are no prepackaged foods or supplements, and no crash dieting. You will learn how to lose weight gradually and keep it off.
Meet Nick, a 16 year old high school student who has learned how to eat in moderation, without giving up the foods he loved. In one year, he has transformed himself from a shy, overweight boy with no confidence into a striking, self assured young man. Childhood obesity is an epidemic, and threatens our nation’s future.

The following is a list of proven ways to help you lose weight. Start by incorporating these best practices into your eating habits, and you will see the results.
- Ask yourself, before you eat, am I hungry? If you’re not hungry, then why eat?
- Take back your power, and try to control your eating
- Don’t deprive yourself, eat healthy and eat smaller portions
- Sit down when eating because you will pick less
- Eat slower, chew at least 15 times per bite
- Eat with your opposite hand or put your fork down between each bite to help you eat slower
- Try not to finish everything on your plate
- Try not to eat while cooking, because you end up eating two dinners
- Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day
- Try a sweet potato for a healthy snack after school or work
- Use a smaller plate so it looks like there is more food on your dish
- Try to finish eating by 8pm
- Keep a diary of your food everyday if possible
- Take 2 or 3 bites of dessert...

- Phyllis H., 75 years oldI was struggling with my weight as a young teen until I met Joyce Hofmann. I have learned how to enjoy the foods I love, knowing that it’s all about choices and portion control. I ate the same food in smaller portions, but I also choose the healthier options more often. Not only has Joyce helped me to lose weight, she has also helped me to be a better person and build better relationships with my friends and family. I am able to walk into high school with my head held high because of Joyce and the motivation she has given me.
